Jazz maestro Mike Aremu will on Sunday 3 July, 2011 accompanied by co-headliner: phenomenal instrumentalist Kenny G, take to the stage at the Expo Centre of Eko Hotels and Suites for the third edition of the annual jazz concert Sax Appeal.
This year’s edition of the event has been tagged “concert of the year’’ and one of the major promises of excitement at this year’s edition is the appearance of Grammy award winning American Saxophonist Kenny G.
Aremu said “Kenny G will travel to Lagos on Saturday from his base in Poland. We are expecting his 22-man contingent to be in Lagos by Saturday night; including his band members and assistants. He is coming to Lagos for the first time and has decided to come with a full band that will thrill our Lagos audience. Expect nothing but an amazing concert.’’
Kenny G will be joining a growing list of musicians like Tosin Martins, Kunle Ayo, Bez, Yinka Davies, Yolanda Brown, and rapper MI – All of whom have performed at the annual event in the past.

The appearance of the American born instrumentalist at this year’s concert will further enhance the growing international recognition of the annual music event.
Already, a full set of acts (from four countries: Nigeria, South Africa, the United States and England) have been confirmed to perform at the third edition of Sax Appeal and according to reports, the cost expended in putting the high-profile concert together so far is already over a hundred million naira. The cost, sources say covers venue, performance fees, technicals, logistics, publicity, transportation and accommodation.
