The attacker's representative has expressed his dismay with the Champions League winners' negotiation tactics in their attempt to sign the Brazil international.
Wagner Ribeiro, the agent of Santos forward Neymar, has his out at Barcelona for approaching his client directly rather than getting in touch with him.
The Brazil international is one of the most sought after players around after some impressive performances in 2011 and is reportedly close to joining Real Madrid. However, Barcelona are apparently ready to go far in an attempt to lure Neymar to Camp Nou instead.
"I don't like what they [Barcelona] did. They talked to the player when he was with Brazil's national side and contacted his father," Ribeiro was quoted as saying by ESPN.
"From the moment that Santos gave both clubs [Barcelona and Real Madrid] permission to open talks, they should have contacted me instead of the player himself."
Ribeiro then explained that he'd prefer to see Neymar join Real Madrid rather than move to Catalunya following the recent events.
"I am in favour of negotiating with Real Madrid. I haven't forgotten that [club president] Florentino Perez already wanted to sign him when they got Robinho. If I had to choose between both sides, I'd go for Real Madrid."
The 19-year-old attacker has an ongoing contract with Santos, but Real Madrid are reportedly ready to meet his release clause of €45 million.
