ABOUT 600 students of Delta State origin studying in Borno State have been successfully evacuated by the Delta State Government.

Besides, other indigenes of Delta State who are not students have also been evacuated from Borno.

The students were safely brought back to their State on Thursday in a convoy of luxury buses dispatched to Borno to rescue them.

No less than 10 of the buses were dispatched to bring back the indigenes of the State in an exercise coordinated by the Commissioner in charge of the Bureau for Special Duties, Dr Tony Nwaka.

“It is a proactive measure to save our students from falling victims of the activities of Boko Haram militia”, the State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan stated stressing that nothing would be spared to save the lives of Deltans wherever they may be located.

Addressing the first batch of the students and non-students that arrived the State capital, Asaba, Dr Nwaka thanked God for the journey mercies granted them and commended Governor Uduaghan for the magnanimity in approving the rescue mission.
