I’m the new gyration master – A.B Cowboy

Penultimate week, precisely at an after inauguration party held at his residence at Obosi, Anambra state, Honorabe Tony Oneweek Muonagor after an excellent performance that marked the end of gyration for him, he formerly presented and anointed his longer time friend and co traveler, AB Cowboy to succeed him as the new leader of the gyration music movement.

AB Cowboy who could not hold back his joy after this pronouncement took the microphone and performed tracks from his and Tony Oneweek’s old albums to the delight of all present.

AB Cowboy, real names Anigbo Clement Chiukwudike, a graduate of Finance from the Anambra State University of Science and Technology (now ESUTH) is based in Port Harcourt where he plies the trade of music in the gyration genre.

Asked how he felt later, he said; “ I think Tony made the right decision. Since he is now stepping aside because of his new position in the State House of Assembly. It is proper that his successor as new gyration master should be the man who started the revolution with him, someone he can trust also.

“You see my brother, this gyration thing was started by us in our desire to create work for ourselves since there were no jobs in the country. We did not see it as something of a money spinner.

“I and Tony were members of the kegites club and we always gyrated together. One day, we just decided to commercialize the stuff. We first recorded a joint album which was titled “Jara Verse 1” in 1997.

“In 1998, Tony came out with his debut titled “You go bow”, which became a monumental hit and which shot him to limelight.”
