Nigeria recall Peter Odemwingie for Ghana friendly in August

The out of favour West Brom forward seems to have settled the rift between him and coach Samson Siasia after more than three months out of the national squad.
West Brom forward Peter Odemwingie will make a return to the national team in August when the team takes on rivals Ghana in a friendly in London.

A release from the Nigeria Football Federation on Monday stated that the player has finally resolved his falling out with coach Samson Siasia, which occurred after he walked out on the squad during a friendly game with Kenya in March.
“It’s now history; Siasia and Osaze have settled their little tiff and we are happy about that. Nigeria can now call on her very best legs in subsequent games without any exception,” stated NFF Technical Committee's chairman, Chris Green.
Odemwingie missed Nigeria’s friendly match with Argentina in June as well as the African Nations Cup qualifying game against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa.
“No problems again, we are now on the same page and things can move ahead in the best interest of Nigerian football,” Siasia said after a meeting brokered to bring an end to the impasse.
“I like to say here that Osaze is one player I like very much due to his enthusiasm and total commitment to the cause on-field. But, to reach higher heights as a great player and person, it is also important to observe rules and regulations and respect team-mates and other persons off-field.
“Everything is now under control and Osaze is back in the squad,” said Siasia.
Nigeria prepare for their Afcon qualifier against Madagascar in September with a showdown against Ghana in August.
