A man, Adeola Edunjobi, has been charged to Oshodi magistrate’s court for allegedly sneaking into his neighbor’s house and attempting to have sex with the wife forcefully.
The 32- year old Adeola was alleged to have sneaked into his neighbor’s apartment and forcefully attempted to have sex with Ngozi Aniegbuna while she was sleeping.
The incident happened at 74, Brown Street, Oshodi Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
P.M.NEWS gathered that Ngozi was sleeping in their one bed-room apartment in the afternoon and left her door open.
Adeola, who was their next door neigbour, did not go to work on that day and reportedly sneaked into her house when her husband was not around and went straight on their bedroom where Ngozi was lying and grabbed her to have sex with her.
The shocked woman raised an alarm because she was afraid and started crying.
The alarm attracted the attention of their neighbours who went to find out what was happening.
They saw Adeola pleading with Ngozi and the neigbours got to know what happened.
She contacted her husband who went to Akinpelu police station and reported what happened.
Adeola was arrested and charged to the magistrate’s court presided over by Mrs Osho Adebiyi.
Part of the charge read: “That you, Adeola Edunjobi, on the same date time and place did sneak into the apartment of the husband of Ngozi Aniegbuna and forcefully attempted to have sex with her.”
When the charge was read to him, he pleaded not guilty. The court then granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri Prison Apapa, Lagos pending when he meets the bail condition.
The matter has been adjourned till 20 July 2011
