34 hotties line up for MBGN crown


After a painstaking screening exercise which took Silverbird screen agents to some of Nigeria’s major cities namely, Benin,Port Harcourt ,Abuja and Lagos 34 beautiful girls are due to contest for the crown of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant holding this Saturday beginning 6pm at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island Lagos.

This year no fewer than 600 girls showed enthusiasm to participate in the prestigious pageant across the country

Mouth watering prizes are up for grabs for the winner and her runners up, among them a brand new car, cash prize and opportunity to represent Nigeria at international beauty pageants including Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Tourism International, Model and Miss Ecowas among others.

The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant originally began as Miss Universe Nigeria in 1983, and was created by Silverbird Group. It was later re-named Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 1986. Winners represent Nigeria in Miss World and, until recently, Miss Universe, Miss Tourism International among other famous pageants worldwide

After Miss Nigeria stopped representing the country abroad, MBGN title holders continued from where Miss Nigeria had stopped.

In 2001, Silverbird’s Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria gave the planet its first ever Miss World from black Africa in the person of the beautiful Agbani Darego

Past queens include Bianca Onoh-Ojukwu, Special Assistant to the President on Diaspora Affairs, Lynda Chuba-Ikpeazu, an Honourable Member House of Representatives among other notable queens

The outgoing queen is Science Laboratory Technology student Fiona Amuzie Afora
