Automobile show off, rules @ Ezuruonye’s wedding

The wedding was a convergence of class and glamour; a celebration of one of their own.

Mike Ezuruonye last Saturday said ‘I Do’ to his loving wife, and it was a moment of show of solidarity and love by his colleagues in the entertainment world.

Unlike the previous wedding of top comedian, Basket Mouth, which recorded unimpressive turn-out of celebrities, Mike’s white wedding was more of a festival of celebrities, with each one of them trying to out do the other with state-of- the art automobiles.

From actress, Rita Dominic who stepped in the rich style of her attire and chauffeur driven limousine to Ini Edo Ehigwina who came in a head turning Chrysler, others such as Kate Henshaw, Ebube Nwangbo who stormed the reception arena with her a hummer, Annie Macauley also came in eye popping cars.

Others at the event included the duo of KC Presh, Psquare, Stella Damasus Nzeribe, Stephanie Okereke, Emeka Ike, Rukky Sanda, Empress Njamah and others. Timaya who posed for a shot with Mike disappeared in the nick of time.

Producer set to discover new faces for Nollywood

If the promise by popular Nollywood director, Lancelot Imasuen is anything to go by, then, in the next few years, movie bluffs in Nigeria will behold a new breed of Nollywood actors and actresses on the screen.

Beverly: One of the emerging faces in Nollywood

Imasuen confided in HVP recently that he has a commitment to raise a new breed of actors and actresses to take over the screen from the likes of Genevieve Nnaji, Omosexy, Oge Okoye, Rita Dominic, Jim Iyke, Desmond Elliot and a host of other Nollywood stars.

“Between now and the end of next year, I want to raise 101 brand new faces in Nollywood. That’s not to say, the current stars are no longer popular or have been overused. Let us create opportunity for competition.” the accomplished director declared.

Imasuen popularly known as The Governor said, he will be accomplishing this task through his newly registered Nollywood Project 101. The company, he said will undertake the production of sixteen movies which will parade new faces with one or two popular faces as support acts.

“Over the years, all the movies that are produced parade the same faces and I said, this trend must change, we are pace-setter in the industry. So, I decided to initiate and register Nollywood Project 101 as a company to raise new breed of faces. May be, with one or two popular faces as support acts. The lead characters in the upcoming films will be new faces. It’s the legacy I want to bequeath to the industry.” he added.

Already, Imasuen said, they have just finished shooting one of the movies titled, ‘ Dark Waters”, which features new faces like Beverly Naya and Pamela King, adding “ it will create a ceremony that will herald the series of movies for the project.’

Genevieve missing @ the awards night!

A-list actress Genevieve Nnaji who featured prominently at the just concluded maiden edition of the African International film festival, held in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State capital was missing during the glamorous night of awards.

The actress participated at the celebrity fashion show alongside Rita Dominic, which held the second day of the event, but failed to show up at the award night for reasons best known to her.

HVP gathered that Genevieve who is said to be having sizzling affair with the rapper , D’banj stayed back in her hotel room, at La-Meridian that night. Though no reason was given for her absence. She sneaked in, at Genesis Deluxe cinema, where the opening ceremony was held and later, disappeared the same way she entered the place.

Meanwhile, in her absence, other star-actresses who graced the occasion like Rita Dominic, Omoni Oboli, Ibinabo Fiberesima, Dakore Egbunson who compered the occasion alongside BBA 5 presenter, IK Osakioduwa had their funs. Rita Dominic was everywhere, as she took to the floor digging it out with Donka Mighty, who thrilled the large audience with his scintillating performance, and later Psquare took the stage, and in the duo’s earth-shaking performance got the visiting Hollywood stars on their feet.

Joke Silva’s chew gum flop

While relishing the red-carpet pampering as the cameras clicked away and lights dazzled, veteran actress Joke Silva was almost thrown off composure when an unexpected slip occurred.

The England trained thespian known for revealing her full dentition when smiling ,had kept away her chewing gum in her palm ready for her camera pose.

Unfortunately while adjust her clutch and swinging her arm, the chewing gum flew out of her palm going over her head and landing some miles from her. The gaily woman together with other guests simply laughed over the incident while photographers and cameramen feasted on the incident.
