234Next's Bizarre Report On Diezani Allison Madueke's Education

Mrs Allison  Diezani Madueke

She really was not required to enroll for national service. As Diezani Alison-Madueke settles into her second tour of duty as Nigeria’s petroleum minister, she wouldn’t have been burdened by the raging controversy that she skipped national service had she not needlessly lied about her exact year of graduation from the university, a NEXT investigation has shown.

Our months-long investigations in Nigeria and the United States, where Mrs Alison-Madueke attended university, showed that the minister actually graduated from Howard University in 1992 when she was already 32 years old.

Under the National Youth Service Corps Act, the one-year compulsory national service is only mandatory for Nigerians who graduate before the age of 30. Given the age at which she graduated, Mrs Alison-Madueke did not need to serve and is eligible for exemption from the programme. She cannot, therefore really be held liable for ducking it.

Create Account | Sign In A journey of pains for a three-year-old

There is probably no better word, other than miracle, to describe the survival of Oluwaferanmi Adebawo – a three-year-old child who suffered an arrow attack to his skull. His story of escape from the valley of death is trailed by mystery, despair, competent medical attention and benevolence.
It all started on October 28th, 2010, at exactly 1pm at Itedo Apostle Obinehin, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, when little Master Feranmi, who was playing with his friends, was suddenly struck by an arrow on the right side of the forehead. Although the arrow was not fired towards the playing children, it veered towards them to strike the little boy.

"Prince Odianose Okojie Did Not Tell Me He Was Legally Married" - Mercy Johnson

I know that girls (especially Naija girls) always prefer a man with sweet tongue, that can lie very well and tell them all the sweet lies that they like to hear. Mercy Johnson is now saying that she didnt even know that her husband to be was legally married to another woman, she claims he told her that he was only helping the woman to get papers (and a child too) and the photos we posted some days back were not wedding photo, but a legalization ceremony for his son..

Here is the press statement released by her publicist

Sunday Okpe builds a car for himself

When Sunday Okpere was seven, he made toy cars using empty milk cans, short ropes and small twigs, which he happily dragged around the streets in his hometown in Edo State; while at the same time nursing the dream of building a real car.
Today, Mr Okpere drives a red and black car, which he named ‘Rock Auto,' around the streets of Lagos; a car which he designed and coupled from start to finish with locally-sourced materials.
Despite the death of his father and the attendant financial and emotional setback to the family, Mr Okpere said "making a car" was something he knew he wanted to do at a young age when he discovered his creative spirit.
"When I was a young boy, I used to make car with cans," said Mr Okpere, 35, who relocated with his family from Lagos to Edo State in the late 70's.
"All my friends in my neighbourhood will gather around me and say I should make for them. From cars, I started making guns.Anything I was interested in, I tried to make on my own."
"In secondary school, my teacher in school asked me what I wanted to be in future and I said I want to be an engineer," he said.

WHY LAGOS DEPUTY GOV.JOKE ADEFULIRE'S MARRIAGE CRASHED

Her Excellency, Joke Orelope-Adefulire
Tha Lagos State Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Joke Orelope-Adefulire dumped her first husband and father of her four children(one died) Toyin Kembi,a driver with Lagos Orthopedic Hospital,Igbobi,Lagos, like bad habit and ran away to her father’s house,Alhaji Saka Orelope at Idimu Area, Lagos is a stale news.

Be that as it may, millions of Nigerians are not cognizant why the former lawmaker and Commissioner’s marriage crashed like a tokunbo car engine.
But we call tell you why. Family members squealed to us that the driver husband who now lives in a slum around Orile-Agege area of Lagos State used to beat the hell out of the humble and hardworking deputy governor.

The insider said though then the couple were living in face me and face you apartment but Joke was a hardworking hair dresser who was loyal and submissive to the driver husband yet, the man turned her to a punching bag and she couldn’t take the frequent blows and kicks any more, she relocated to her father’s house with her three surviving children.

Our source added that the deputy governor has been solely responsible for the upkeep and education of the children over the years. The ex-husband has since remarried and the new wife Mama Nike runs a local beer parlour at the front of the ramshackle house where they live at Orile Agege area of Lagos State.

We were told that the good Lord put a smile on the Deputy Governor’s face when Barrister Adefulire came to rent an apartment for his legal practice at the father’s house and before one could say Asiwaju, Joke and him fell in love and slammed him with a set of twins.

Thereafter, another child followed. The lawyer who was married with no child to show for it simply formalized his dalliance with Joke and life for the duo has been in cloud 7 since then.

Though the first husband has been shouting on the rooftop that Joke has denied him access to his three grown up children, the deputy governor’s family members said he should shut up his wide mouth and thank his stars that he had an ex-wife who is financially solid or else he would be begging for money now to pay his three children school fees in pounds and dollars.

J. Martins debunks gay rumours

J Martins
If you missed the gay story J. Martins tells Rasheed Abubakar of Encomium magazine he is not gay.

I was in Abuja when I started receiving calls about the story and I was asked to buy the paper. I bought the paper and in black and white, they wrote that J. Martins is a homosexual. I started laughing and then entered my hotel room. I was naked looking at myself in the mirror, maybe I could see where the homo is. Me? Homosexual? From where? How? (laughs). It was very funny to me, you know it's one of the things you face as an entertainer.

OYEDEPO PUTS TWO PRIVATE JETS UP FOR SALE

Bishop Oyedepo
On march 26th of this year,Bishop Oyedepo acquired his fourth private jet which worth around five billion naira.

The private jet,a Gulfstream V was declared to the over 10,000 worshippers who thronged Canaaland on Sunday March 27th,by the bishop himself.
The bishop said the new jet will be used exclusively for the ministry’s African Mission.
In his speech on Sunday, the bishop also announced that a state-of-art private aircraft hanger that can accommodate five jets at a time is being built for his jets near the international wing of Murtala Mohammed International Airport.

All that being said, those in the know argued that keeping a total of four private jets in the hanger is a form of extravagance judging by the amount of money that will be required to maintain the aircraft.

However, research revealed that on average,a hanger is going to cost anywhere from $200 to $3,500 a month. It’s going to come down to the size of the hanger, the time needed,as well as the location.

The story now is that,Bishop Oyedepo has now put up two out of the four private jets for sale. Though the reason for his decision, we don’t know but according to a reliable source close to the man of God, we gathered that it seems Bishop Oyedepo is now overwhelmed with the cost of maintaining the entire four jets which is estimated to cost millions of naira.

The UNIBEN CCTV project as worthy lead

IT is heartwarming to note that while governments continue to fiddle about the application of ICT in security, individuals and institutions are forging ahead by adopting digital solutions to security.
Uniben gate

On Monday, the University of Benin raised the ante when it commissioned CCTV cameras for surveillance in the university. That means the UNIBEN community is now wired against criminals, just like the city of London, and .
That feat, by that university, deserves accolades because it shows that things can be done in this country. It also demystifies all the humdrum being peddled in the corridors of power on why we can’t have it in every major city.
At the individual level, it is known that not a few houses in our major cities and towns are retrofitted with digital security gadgets that would deter the ordinary burglar or some other criminal. It is also common knowledge that the office suites of top business executives are, in terms of security, digital fortresses. But that is in the private sector.
What the University of Benin has done is to show that it can also be done in the public sector for the common good, and the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Osayuki Oshodin and his team deserve applause from all of us.
It is no longer a matter of argument that our universities have derailed from their primary objectives — that of culturing and nurturing the brightest and best of the nation’s intellect.

Kaffy accepts being pregnant

Kaffy

In case you don't know who she is, Kafayat Shafau propularly known as Kaffy is the number one dancer/choreographer in Nigeria. She's said to be engaged to Joseph Ameh, a band member of P-Square and they are planning a wedding in October. Kaffy is allegedly pregnant.

She supposedly said this to City People in an interview last week. "I wasn't surprised when I found out I was pregnant. We were not avoiding having a baby. We were into the relationship together, we were totally into each other, so we were prepared for whatever. I am four months pregnant now, going to five months."

she's almost five months pregnant? I'm quite shocked by this  because I saw her at the P-Square concert where she was the lead dancer and she didn't look pregnant to me. She wore very tight clothes, her mid section was exposed at some point, she was flipping on stage, jumping, dancing very energetically for nearly three hours...how can a pregnant woman do all that? Wó Kaffy, you are joking jor! Except you are superwoman.

Mike Adenuga Moves To Take Over Nitel For N67 Billion

Mike Adenuga
Business magnate Dr. Mike Adenuga has made overtures to the federal government to acquire the state-owned telecommunications company, NITEL and its mobile subsidiary, MTel, for $450 million under the willing buyer-willing seller basis to be undertaken by the Bureau of Public Enterprises, in a last ditch effort to sell the troubled telecom firm.
In the last 10 years, the BPE has made five unsuccessful attempts to privatise NITEL, the last of which was a 2009 tender when New Generation Limited and Omen International emerged the preferred and reserve bidders respectively but failed to pay for the enterprise despite repeated extensions granted both firms to do so.
The failure to transfer NITEL to a private sector investor has made the company lose market share to more aggressive competitors and led to the erosion of its subscriber base from about 500,000 fixed land lines in 2001 to about 100,000.
Its mobile subsidiary, MTel, which once boasted 1 million lines, only has a handful of subscribers left on the network today.

The last botched attempt to dispose of NITEL compelled the BPE to write to the presidency and NCP seeking their approval for either the liquidation of the telecom firm or its disposal to an investor under the willing buyer-willing seller basis.

Breastfeeding is crucial to child's development, says minister

Woman breastfeeding her kid
The Federal Ministry of Health flagged off the world breastfeeding week yesterday with a call on all the states of the federation to follow suit.
Onyebuchi Chukwu, minister of health, who disclosed this on Monday in Abuja at the flag-off of the 2011 World Breastfeeding Week, said in the past, efforts at supporting breastfeeding had tended to focus on time and space, but these efforts had not yielded and would not yield the desired impact without effective communication.
"Communication is an essential part of promoting, protecting, and supporting breastfeeding. We live in the world where individuals and global communities connect across small and great distances at an instant notice through communication.
"Also, new lines of communication are being created every day, and we have the ability to use these information channels to broaden our horizons and spread breastfeeding information beyond our immediate time and place. This third dimension involves cross-generation, cross-sector, cross-gender, and cross-culture communication and encourages the sharing of knowledge and experience, thereby widening the outreach," Mr Chukwu said.

GHANAIAN CELEBRITIES WITH TATTOOS WILL GO TO HELL”MARTHA

Martha Ankoma
Just because society approves of something does not make it right in Gods eyes. Our society at large also approves of abortion and divorce. However, the bible makes it clear that God doesn’t approve of these things.

Beautiful and enterprising Actress, Martha Ankomah in an interview revealed to us that tattooing is a bad practice which is against the bible.

This revelation was made known to this writer after she had been quized why she was not going into Tattooing with such fresh body of hers. She made it known to us that she is not tattooing because the bible has made it clear that anyone who tattoos is a sinner.

Although she did not get the bible quotation correct after she had mentioned it, we found the text somewhere in revelations. We tried doing a few research into the bible and we have another text to share with our readers “Leviticus 19; 28” and it reads;” Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves .I am the Lord.”
